Catharsis, performance and installation, 2019
A public-facing installation and performance that took place at Inverse Performance Art Residency's show "Traces" in San Luis Obispo, CA. In this piece, I transformed a small closet into a space of release for the public. For the duration of the show, I stood outside of the room and asked attendees if they would like to go into the room and scream with me. After the shared catharsis, I allowed participants to write why or what they were thinking about when the screamed on the walls and pillows. It was a powerful exploration of intimacy and release with the community.
